President’s Corner

Hi Everyone.

            I guess it’s Spring. At least that is what the calendar says. We have had a few nice days so I guess we should be happy for that.

            Tuesday, May 31^st is our “Introduction to Clowning” class graduation. It would be great to have a bunch of Michiana Clowns present to welcome them to clowning. Time is 6:00 pm for participants, and 7:00 pm for guests.FirstUnitedMethodist Church is the place. If you are able to come about 15 minutes before the performance is to begin to help set up whatever needs to be I will appreciate it.

            You have all received your invitations for our 25^th Anniversary dinner, June 13^th. Unfortunately I have not heard from many of you with your choice for dinner. If you have any questions you may call me, Chips at 219-872-1597. Please make your reservations SOON.

            June 11^th we will be at the Queens Fest. Twisting balloons and face painting. Our time there for this paid event is from2:00 - 4:00 pm. If you can make it at all call me.

            June 17^th.we are taking part in two of the three American Cancer Society Relays that are happening that day. LaPorte (atMichigan CityHigh School) andPortage (atWillowCreekSchool.) If you don’t remember which one you signed up for, or if you didn’t sign up for any and would like to, call Nettie Belle 879-3898. We will be sculpting balloons and painting faces for donations which we turn over to theACS

            Michigan City Summer Festival parade is July 2^nd. John Bowers has again volunteered his car trailer for our float. The theme is Michigan City’s Birthday and we have a few ideas floating around. If you have any ideas you would like to share call Tricksy 872-6282. We will begin to decorate on Thursday, June 30^th, at her home 5417 W. 450 N. We plan to begin at about5:00 and have plans for bringing in pizza.

            Nettie Belle has made arrangements to have our official group photo taken on July 11^th. This is a regular meeting night. Come in clown! We have not had an official Alley Photo taken in about  4 years.  We can’t have an official group photo taken if we aren’t in clown. Great Dane Studios has done this for us before and does a great job. Please make it a point to be there. If you so desire individual photos will be taken as well. Prices are reasonable.
